Hostel

Dear Diary,

A I stay in a Hostel, it's befitting that I choose this word for today's post.

Two years ago, if anyone had told me that I would be living in another city, all alone in a hostel, doing everything on my own, I would have laughed and waved them off, but as luck would have it. Here, I am.

I had no hostel experience and the stories I heard, scared me to no end. Fortunately and by God's grace, the university where I study, has an excellent girls hostel and its nothing like what I had heard.

Hostel has taught me a lot : my strengths and weaknesses, living on a budget and being independent in every sense of the word. I agree with Jay when he says :

The Sunday Visitor.

  1. To progress to such a living arrangement is indeed a huge step in growing up, and I am not at all surprised that you have learned to love it. I am also quite certain that those who reside there with you are blessed to have you in their company. That smile surely lights up the whole place! Think of the adventures of hostel living that you will be able to tell your children about some day... or perhaps it will become the background for a book!

  4. I think hostel living would have been something I would have enjoyed in my late teens, not so sure I would like it now, but glad to hear you are

  5. It must have been quite an adjustment for you to be on your own. It sounds like it has been a positive experience.

  6. That's great that things turned out so well. It's always good to step outside our boundaries and try something new, even if it terrifies us at first.

  7. I don't think I'd feel comfortable with hostel style living at this stage of my life, but when I was younger it might not have been too bad. I guess we can get used to anything though.

  8. I imagine a hostel is close to dorm living which I did for four years. Not too bad of an experience, but I love having a house now.

  10. I stayed in a hostel for one night last year in Italy and I loved it. I was very thankful to have a great room with bath.
    All the best.
